DENVER (CBS4) – His own twin brother testified that Daniel DeWild plotted to kill his estranged wife, and he also had a hand in planning the murder.

Daniel DeWild is being tried for killing Heather DeWild nine years ago. Defense attorneys cross examined DeWild’s brother Friday morning.

David DeWild said the brothers’ plan to kill and hide Heather DeWild was inspired by crime shows like CSI.

Heather DeWild was beaten in her former home and then buried in a dirt pile in Clear Creek Canyon.

David DeWild, who has already pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, says his brother was tired of paying child support.

David DeWild hasn’t been sentenced yet.
