DENVER (CBS4) – Rep. Ed Perlmutter has defeated Joe Coors and will serve another term as U.S. Representative.
With 30 percent of precincts reporting, Permlutter, a Democrat, won with 53 percent of the vote to Joe Coors’s 42 percent.
Coors, a Republican, hadn’t conceded the race as of 10 p.m. on Election Night, but Perlmutter delivered a victory speech at his party headquarters.

“We are winning from the very top of the ticket to the very bottom,” said Perlmutter, who did cartwheels on the stage in celebration.
Perlmutter’s victory over Republican Joe Coors, the great-grandson of brewery founder Adolph Coors, cements his reputation as one of the toughest Democrats to beat in Colorado. Perlmutter faced a vigorous challenge in the 7th District from Coors, who invested $3.1 million in his campaign
