Denver Police Search For Shooting Suspect

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are looking for the driver of a car who fired shots at officers early Tuesday morning in West Denver.

It happened at about 12:33 a.m. as officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 4500 block of West 1st Avenue.

When officer approached the vehicle and attempted to contact the driver, the man exchanged gunfire with the officers.

The driver then sped away from the scene and was last seen driving in the area of West 5th Avenue and Bryant Street.

The man is described as Hispanic or Native American in his mid 20s to 30s with long dark hair.

The vehicle is described as primer or hand-painted gray, 2000 Cadillac DeVille with black-tinted windows. The vehicle also may have a broken passenger side window with a South Dakota license plate 49C-AR9.
