Obama Campaign Worker Faces Unlawful Sexual Contact Charge

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Loveland have arrested an Obama campaign worker for unlawful sexual contact.

Breana Haner told police that she was touched inappropriately by a man who identified himself as a member of the Obama political campaign.

The man, Luke M. Buchanan, allegedly knocked on Haner's door in Loveland on Tuesday afternoon. Haner, 21, and Buchanan talked about her voting status for a short time. Then he asked if he could give her a campaign sticker.

While applying the sticker to her shirt, Buchanan, 24, allegedly grabbed Haner's breasts.

Buchanan was identified with the help of the Loveland Obama campaign office. He is a resident of Washington, DC who has been working on the campaign in Loveland.

Buchanan is a Colorado Democratic Party employee.

"We have a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior. As soon as we learned about this incident, we took immediate action, and the person in question has been terminated. The actions of one individual in no way reflect the hard work being done every day by the thousands of employees and volunteers the Colorado Democratic Party who have spent countless hours talking to their friends and neighbors about the importance of this election," said Colorado Democratic Party Communications Director Matt Inzeo.

Buchanan was arrested for one count of unlawful sexual contact a class one misdemeanor and booked into the Larimer County Jail.
