DENVER (CBS4) – The Nuggets are scheduled to fly to Philadelphia on Tuesday to prepare for the first game of the season Wednesday, and they are hoping Hurricane Sandy won’t hamper their travel plans.
Their opening schedule is pretty rough. The first three games are against the 76ers, at Orlando and at Miami.
Now that the games actually count Coach George Karl is hoping his team cuts down on turnovers. It was a big problem for the team during the preseason.
“Coaches are never happy with where they are at,” Karl said. “I think we’ve done a pretty good job with our defense and offensively I’m just worried about the turnovers.
“When you average over 20 turnovers a game it’s a nightmare for everybody. It’s a nightmare for the players, it’s a nightmare for the coach and it’s a nightmare for the scoreboard.”
The Nuggets were scheduled to travel to Philadelphia on a private plane at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
