James Holmes in court (credit: Bill Robles)
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) – A judge is refusing to let some victims of the theater shooting in Aurora see sealed court documents in the case against the suspect.
The judge on Tuesday denied their request to see arrest warrant and search warrant affidavits, an inventory of what was found after the search warrant was executed, and disclosure of transcripts of 911 calls related to the shooting.
The documents are covered under the judge’s gag order in the case.
James Holmes was arrested in connection with the July 20 movie theater attack that killed 12 people and injured at least 58 others.
The victims seeking the sealed documents have said they need the information as they pursue their negligence lawsuits against theater operator Cinemark Inc. The company has said it couldn’t have foreseen the attack.
