HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (AP) – Republican Rep. Mike Coffman pleaded for his job Tuesday in a final matchup against his Democratic challenger.

Coffman took the stage at his final debate before Election Day against Democrat Joe Miklosi and asked a crowd in Highlands Ranch to return him to a third term in Congress.

Coffman is facing his most vigorous challenge since going to Washington. The congressional district south and east of Denver has been redrawn to include more Democrats, making the 6th Congressional District among the nation’s most competitive.

The final Coffman-Miklosi debate centered on jobs and the economy. The candidates agreed on some ideas, but Miklosi attacked Coffman as part of a do-nothing Congress that bickers instead of getting work done. Coffman countered that he is willing to work with Democrats to seek results.
