DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are investigating the death of a woman found inside her home in southeast Denver on Wednesday evening.

Police responded at about 6:14 p.m. to 7500 East Leetsdale Drive #A-17 on a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived they found a woman who had been stabbed and was unconscious.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died a short time later.

The suspect, Mike Burnett, was arrested a short distance away from where the woman was found.

The woman’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

The victim has not been identified.
