CORTEZ, Colo. (AP/CBS4) — Montezuma County sheriff’s officials have arrested someone in connection with a fire in southwest Colorado that prompted evacuations of 30 homes.
Roger Stratton, 53, was being held Thursday on suspicion of fourth-degree arson. Bond was set at $3,000.
Sheriff’s officials have said the Roatcap Fire started Wednesday and spread to more than 380 acres in high winds. They said it was sparked by someone burning trash on private land.
The Cortez Journal reports the fire was 70 percent contained Thursday.
No structures have been lost.
