BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – Police at the University of Colorado in Boulder are investigating a string of campus thefts.
There has been more than a dozen thefts so far this month. Ten buildings across CU’s campus have been hit.
Police are searching for a suspect. Right now they don’t know if just one person is responsible.
Items like laptops and wallets are being stolen from common areas and unlocked offices.
Really the best way to prevent this from happening is to not make yourself a target,” CU Boulder Police Department spokesperson Ryan Huff said. “These are really crimes of opportunity.”
There’s also been a hike in the number of bike thefts, In nearly all cases cable locks are cut.
Police are urging people to keep an eye on their belongings. They also say all bikes need to be registered.
Police are concerned since it’s a large amount of thefts in a short amount of time.
