CARSON, Calif. (AP) – Martin Rivero and Kamani Hill scored first-half goals in the Colorado Rapids’ 2-0 victory over Chivas USA on Saturday night.

Rivero opened the scoring in the 16th minute, converting a wide-open shot from close range for his second goal of the season. Tyson Wahl played the ball in from the left flank and Jaime Castrillon flicked a header to Rivero. Hill scored in the 40th minute on a header from 12 yards.
Goalkeeper Tim Melia made his MLS debut for Chivas. Dan Kennedy missed the game because of a knee injury, ending his streak of consecutive starts at 64.
