Attempted Abduction Reported In Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies are investigating an attempted abduction.

It happened between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Monday in the 8200 block of W. Toller Ave.

A 14-year-old boy was walking home from a friends house and as he neared Falcon Bluffs Middle School he watched a dark blue sedan or black sedan following him.

The man that was driving the vehicle stopped the car and yelled, "Hey!" to the boy.

The boy was frightened and began to run towards his home.

The boy told police the man ran after him and caught him a short distance later. The man grabbed his arm and began to pull the boy towards his car.

As the boy felt the suspect's grip loosen he pulled away and was able to return to his home.

The man is described as white, 35-40 years old, about 200 pounds with medium salt and pepper hair. The vehicle was described as a dark blue or black sedan.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tip line at 303-271-5612.

There is a heightened sense of alert surrounding attempted abductions since Jessica Ridgeway went missing while walking to school on Oct. 5. Her body was found five days later in Arvada open space a few miles from where she went missing.
