Trial For Man Accused Of Killing Globetrotters Trainer Set To Begin

DENVER (CBS4) – Testimony is expected to begin Wednesday in the murder trial of the man accused of killing a trainer for the Harlem Globetrotters.

Draton Mares, 24, is accused of shooting 42-year-old Thomas Bashline nearly a year ago. Bashline’s girlfriend found the body in his home near Frederick.

Bashline and Mares allegedly had a romantic relationship. In court documents prosecutors claim Mares got angry at Bashline and shot him in the head.
