Colorado Man Loses Arm To Possible Flesh-Eating Disease

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Family members of a man with a possible flesh-eating disease think he may have gotten it from a spider bite.

Rick Graham was injured in a motorcycle accident last month in Delta. At first he was treated in Grand Junction, but because of the severity of his condition he's now at University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora.

Graham's daughter thinks he picked up the infection from either a cut during the accident or a spider bite.

The infection is so widespread doctors had to amputate Graham's arm and he may soon lose his legs.

"You have to think about how this person is going to be okay with their life and what you're going to be able to do to help him and get what he needs to live an everyday life after something like this." Graham's daughter Tabitha Lightner said.
