Body Found Near Pond In Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Fort Collins are investigating after a body of an unknown adult was found lying on the banks of a pond.

Rita Davis with Fort Collins police said officers were called to Cottonwood Hollow Natural Areas in the 2800 block of East Prospect Road around noon Sunday on the report of a deceased person.

"Upon arrival officers found the body of an unknown adult lying on the banks of the pond. According to investigators, it appears the deceased had been there for at least several weeks," Davis said in a statement.

Davis said there were no obvious signs of foul play but police have yet to identify the person.

An autopsy is scheduled.
