SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Corey Brewer scored 24 points and the Denver Nuggets beat the San Antonio Spurs 97-91 Friday night in the preseason opener for both teams.
Danilo Gallinari added 19 points, Andre Iguodala had 11 and JaVale McGee scored 10.
Tim Duncan went 8 for 11 from the field in leading the Spurs with 21 points in 25 minutes at the AT&T Center. Gary Neal added 19 points and Stephen Jackson 13.
Tied at 45 after the first half, the Nuggets went on a 10-0 run in the opening minutes of the third quarter to capture a 57-47 lead. McGee had a pair of one-handed dunks and blocked a layup attempt by Boris Diaw in the run.
The Spurs emptied their bench with 4 minutes left in the third quarter.
