GLENDALE, Colo. (CBS4)- The City of Glendale calls it an eyesore but that didn’t stop them from buying the Spanish Gate Apartments.
One of the buildings at the complex caught fire in December 2003. A woman died in the fire.
That building was destroyed and eventually torn down.
The owner of the complex let the second building on the lot stand even though it has been empty for years.
Glendale used urban renewal funds to buy the land.
The remaining building will be torn down in the next couple of months and a parking lot for Infinity Park will be built in its place.
