ANCHORAGE (CBS4)- A drunk driver in Alaska who struck a couple from Littleton has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Prosecutors say Tex Daniels, 22, of Chugiak, Alaska, had a blood alcohol level of .204, which is nearly three times the legal limit when the collision occurred.

Anchorage police say he hit Ashley Brotherton, 24, and her boyfriend Clayton Wilbanks as they were walking home on Jan. 1.

The two victims were in the courtroom for Thursday's sentencing.

The couple had moved to Alaska for Brotherton's teaching job. Since the collision she has been through months of rehabilitation at Craig Hospital.
