Demaryius Thomas Likes Starting Games In The Hurry-Up Offense

DENVER (CBS4) - After the Denver Broncos 37-6 rout of the Oakland Raiders last Sunday it appears Peyton Manning and his receivers are getting on the same page.

Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, who currently leads the Broncos in receiving yards, was the special guest on Xfinity Monday Live! He hauled in five catches for 103 yards against the Raiders.

"We just go out every week and just work on it and just try to get better every week," Thomas said.

Thomas said he heard from old teammates that Manning was really demanding on the field, but doesn't think it's to the extent that the players told him.

"You'll know if he wants something this way, and if you do it wrong, he'll let you know," Thomas said.

Thomas agrees that having Manning as his quarterback is definitely better for his own career.

"I've never had a quarterback like Peyton. I've played in the triple option, I've played with Tim (Tebow), and Peyton is just a different guy."

Thomas gave the offensive line a lot of credit for the big win over the Raiders.

"Those guys came out and played their behinds off," he said. "You give Peyton a little time and you see what happens. He was 30 for 38 with 338 yards; so they came out and played well. We always say we're going to start with the offensive line, they will take us how far we can go."

The Broncos opened up the game in the hurry-up offense and it worked wonders as Manning spread the ball around and capped off the drive with a touchdown pass to tight end Joel Dreessen. Thomas said he thinks it's the plan to now start games in the hurry-up offense.

"We want to play fast and we want to put up points," he said. "If we can put up points I feel it will be tough to stop us."

Next up for the Broncos is the New England Patriots at Foxboro. Kickoff is Sunday at 2:25 p.m. on CBS4.
