Copper Fires Up The Guns

COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. (CBS4) - We have a winner in the race to start snowmaking at ski resorts in the high country.

Copper Mountain fired up their snowmaking guns on Tuesday at dawn, becoming the first resort this fall to start making man-made snow.

Snow has fallen at many of the resorts in the high country already, but Loveland and Arapahoe Basin -- the two resorts that always open first each ski season -- so far haven't had consistently low enough temperatures to get the man-made snow flying.
