BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Justin’s is voluntarily recalling certain lots of its Classic Peanut Butter 16-ounce jars and Honey Peanut Butter 1.15-ounce and half-ounce single-serve squeeze packs.
The company says its voluntary recall was prompted by Sunland Inc.’s recall of nut butter products because of the potential that they might be contaminated with salmonella.
Justin’s says that because Sunland peanuts were used to make some Justin’s peanut butter products in the past, it is voluntarily recalling its 16-ounce classic peanut butter jars with a “best by” date of Aug. 7, 2013; 1.15-ounce honey peanut butter squeeze packs with a best by date of July 24 or July 25, 2013; and half-ounce honey peanut butter squeeze packs with best by dates of July 14, Aug. 10, Aug. 13, Aug. 14 or Aug. 15, 2013.
