2 Accused In Radio Shack Standoff Formally Charged
DENVER (CBS4) - Two men accused in an attempted robbery and hostage situation at a Radio Shack have been formally charged.
Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office said Taveaun Williams, 19, and Michael Annan, 23, were each charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and two sentence-enhancing counts of crime of violence.
"The charges allege that on Friday, Sept. 7, Williams and Annan entered a Denver Radio Shack store and while robbing the store they took an employee hostage and shot at police officers," Kimbrough said in a statement. "A six-hour standoff ended without further incident when Williams and Annan surrendered."
Nobody was injured during the standoff.
Their bond is set at $200,000 each. They are due back in court on Wednesday to be formally advised of the charges.
