Climber Who Died After Fall On Maroon Bells Identified

PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Authorities have released the identity of a man who died climbing the Maroon Bells.

The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office says Derek Kelley, 34, of Colorado Springs died Saturday when he fell climbing North Maroon Peak.

Witnesses say Kelley lost his footing after a boulder came loose and fell 600 to 1,000 feet. He had a helmet but was not wearing a harness.
