Muslims In Colorado Condemn Anti-Islamic Film, Violence

DENVER (CBS4)- Muslims in Colorado have condemned the anti-Islamic film and the violence that it may have sparked.

At Friday prayers, Muslims said their religion is one of peace.

They said the attacks on U.S. Embassies are as wrong as the film attacking their religion.

"I think what you are seeing is reaction among the non-educated group of people reacting violently but Islam is a peaceful religion," said Colorado Muslim Society spokesman Dr. Ashraf Azeem.

While there has been condemnation for the acts of destruction and for the film produced in America that may have sparked the protests, there is little sympathy for the creator of the film.

"Well, it is very unfortunate that some hateful people want to create friction between Muslims and non-Muslims," said Colorado Muslim Abu-Omar Almubarac.
