Firefighters Climb CenturyLink Tower Twice In 9/11 Tribute
DENVER (CBS4) - A total of 343 firefighters from around the Denver metro area honored their colleagues who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks with a special event at a Denver skyscraper on Tuesday.
The event, which coincides with the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, took place at the 55 story CenturyLink Tower downtown.
The firefighters wore their full firefighting gear, including masks, and made the trip up all steps of the building twice.
A total of 343 New York City firefighters lost their lives when the World Trade Center collapsed on 9/11 in lower Manhattan.
