DENVER (CBS4) – It started as a month-long promotion, but now JCPenney will keep its kids free haircut program for good.

In August the chain gave away 1.6 million haircuts. After that overwhelming response the retailer says it will make the offer permanent for every Sunday starting on Nov. 4.

The move comes after JCPenney suffered two straight quarters of losses and severe sales drops after unveiling its new pricing strategy, which eliminated hundreds of sales.
