COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Colorado Springs police are asking for the public’s help identifying a body found in a burning car following a crash on the Pikes Peak highway.
Spokeswoman Barbara Miller said Monday investigators were unable to determine the type of car or gender of the victim and asked anyone who has a family member or friend missing who was near the mountain to call police.
Police said they got a report of the accident on Sunday and found the vehicle up an embankment near the summit fully engulfed in flames. Police say after the fire was put out, they found one person dead inside.
