EVERGREEN, Colo. (CBS4) – The Mountain Area Land Trust (MALT), which is headquartered in Evergreen, has received accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
MALT conserves lands and waters in Jefferson, Clear Creek and Park counties. It now is just one of 180 of the nation’s 1,723 land trusts to be awarded the seal of approval since 2006.
“Earning accreditation is an important milestone for MALT,” MALT’s Executive Director Jeanne Beaudry said in a statement. “The accreditation seal of approval tells our partners, our donors, our landowners and the public that our organization is well-run, financially-sound, trustworthy and able to ensure our conservation achievements will endure for future generations.”
MALT is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
“Accredited land trusts meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever,” Land Trust Accreditation Commission Executive Director Tammara Van Ryn said.
