GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) – Two graduates of the Colorado School of Mines are giving back to their school.
The college says Bonanza Creek Energy Inc. co-founder Mike Starzer and Patty Starzer have committed $5 million to support scholarships for undergraduate students at Colorado School of Mines.
Patty Starzer said in a written statement Tuesday that the engineering education she and her husband got at Mines provided the starting block for their careers and business ventures.
Both graduated from the school in 1983.
