COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Colorado Springs police say a woman suspected of assuming the identity of a person whose car was stolen has been arrested in Arizona.
Police say an unknown suspect took the vehicle this summer from Castle Rock with the victim’s identity documents inside.
Investigators say Susan D. Ullery is suspected of using the documents to open bank and credit card accounts, buy several thousand dollars of goods on the credit card accounts, and bounce checks from the bank accounts.
Officers in Glendale, Ariz., arrested her over the weekend on a warrant out of Colorado Springs. She allegedly was driving a vehicle she had rented using the victim’s name.
Investigators say they searched a storage locker Tuesday and recovered about $3,000 in furniture the suspect allegedly bought using the victim’s identity.
