The Colorado Department of Transportation is scheduled to close I-225 between Iliff and Parker Road Saturday, August 25th at 9 p.m. until Sunday morning at 6 a.m.
Crews will be pouring the bridge deck for the new Yale Ave Bridge over I-225. The closure and work were scheduled to take place last weekend, but word went out late Friday evening that it would be postponed.
This is part of a larger CDOT project to widen I-225 from Mississippi to Parker Rd. The projects adds a lane in either direction through that section, adds an auxiliary lane and makes way for a Light Rail extension.
CDOT hopes to have the Yale Avenue Bridge done by December, the whole $42 million project is scheduled for completion in July of 2014.
