Former Preschool Teacher Indicted On Child Porn Charges

DENVER (CBS4)- A federal grand jury has indicted former preschool teacher David Moe on distribution, receipt and possession of child pornography.

The indictment was returned Tuesday and formalized those charges against Moe, 45.

According to the indictment, the charges allege that between April 28 and July 24 of this year, Moe knowingly distributed and attempted to distribute child pornography.

It also alleges that Moe knowingly received and attempted to receive child pornography and that he knowingly possessed computer discs and other material that contained an image of child pornography.

Moe was a teacher at Paddington Station Preschool in Denver for 18 years. Police seized CDs, DVDs, and hard drives from lock boxes inside his home and found the pornography.

Moe has since resigned his position at the school as well as the director of the school. He remains in federal custody.

If convicted of distribution and attempted distribution of child pornography, Moe faces not less than five years, and not more than 20 years in federal prison, as well as a $250,000 fine.

If convicted of receipt and attempted receipt of child pornography, Moe faces not less than five years, and not more than 20 years imprisonment, as well as a $250,000 fine. If convicted of possession of child pornography, Moe faces not more than 10 years imprisonment.
