THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) – Thornton says it is now seeing signs of a Stage 2 drought. That means new watering restrictions are starting Sept. 1.
Lawn watering will be limited to two days a week and won’t be allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Residents have to stop watering on Nov. 1.
Fines start at $200 and go up to $1,000.
The city hopes to cut water use by 30 percent.
