Driver Arrested After Lakewood Hit & Run That Injured Man

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Lakewood have arrested the driver they believe was involved in a serious accident and then left the scene.

Police received a call at about 4:44 a.m. about a man lying in the road on S. Wadsworth Blvd. just south of W. Ohio Ave. He was rushed to St. Anthony West Hospital where he remained with life threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon.

Less than an hour after the man was discovered in the street, Catherine Marie Bean called police. Bean, 22, told police she believed she may have been in an accident.

Police responded to the area of 620 S. Vance St. where they contacted Bean and arrested her. The vehicle believed to be involved in the accident was also recovered at the location.

Bean was booked on charges of vehicular assault, driving under the influence, careless driving and failure to remain at the scene of an accident. She remains in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.
