FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) – A 64-year-old woman and a dog died after fire broke out Monday night at a Fort Collins home.
Firefighters arrived just after 11 p.m. at the home, located on the 2600 block of Lodi Court in the southwestern part of the city.
The fire started in the living room, but so far the cause hasn’t been released. It caused moderate damage to the house.
Authorities so far haven’t disclosed the woman’s identity. Officials said only one person lived there.
Officials said debris in the home complicated the firefighting efforts. The Coloradan newspaper reported that firefighters used chainsaws to cut a hole in the roof for ventilation.
