ESTES PARK, Colo. (AP) – Rescuers had to rush to the aid of seven people in Rocky Mountain National Park on Tuesday.

That includes two inexperienced men from Nederland who mistakenly climbed part of a route designated for expert climbers only on the east face of Longs Peak. Another man had to be carried out after he suffered a serious leg injury while hiking near Lake Haiyaha

Park officials say about 50 rescuers were needed to respond to all of the calls for help. They said no one was available Friday to explain why there were so many rescues.
