5 Men Face Charges After July Attack In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado Springs police are releasing new information about a case in which a woman was allegedly attacked by five men.

Police say the victim was offered lemonade on July 21 after breaking up a fight outside her Colorado Springs apartment, and that's the only thing she can remember.

It took a lot of time to investigate the case, and the following five men have now been arrested:

Fadhi Mohammed and Jasim Mohammed Hassin Ramadon are accused of sexual assault and being an accessory.

Mustafa Sataar Al Feraji, Ali Mohammed Hasan Al Juboori, and Yasir Jabbar Jasim are accused of being accessories.

Police say in the early morning hours on July 21 a woman said she heard some sort of fight outside her apartment in Colorado Springs. When she went outside she saw two groups of men. She then stepped in between the two groups and waited for the situation to calm down.

One of the men then invited her inside, where she says there were three other men in their 20s. The men, who are U.S. citizens from Iraq, began talking to her and then offered her what she thought was lemonade. She says that's her last memory of the night.

Police say she suffered significant internal injuries consistent with blunt force trauma and serious bodily injuries that they say they rarely see.

Becuase the men are Iraqis with permanent resident status, the Colorado Springs Police Department says they may be deported if they are convicted.
