DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are investigating a report that some bones had been found along Cherry Creek.

The bones were found Saturday morning along the south side of Cherry Creek near Cherry Creek Drive and Colorado Boulevard. That’s east of the Cherry Creek Mall near the Cherry Creek bike path.

Investigators are trying to determine if the bones found are human or animal. It is too early to tell.

The coroner’s office has joined the investigation.
