DENVER (AP) – The USA Pro Cycling Challenge says defending champion Levi Leipheimer of Montana and former Tour de France champion Cadel Evans of Australia are slated to compete in this year’s race.
The race Aug. 20 to 26 will travel through a dozen host cities in Colorado, starting in Durango and ending in Denver.
Race organizers said Wednesday that competitors also will include Tejay van Garderen and Vincenzo Nibali, who were among the top riders in the Tour de France this year.
Seventeen-time Tour de France competitor George Hincapie and U.S. Olympian Taylor Phinney also will ride, along with Christian Vande Velde, who was second in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge last year.
