Evans Police: Girl Admits Lying About Abduction

EVANS, Colo. (AP) -- Evans police say a 9-year-old girl who told investigators she was abducted by a masked man is now admitting she lied.

The girl told police Sunday she had been abducted. On Tuesday, she admitted she made up the story, apparently so she wouldn't get in trouble for going to a friend's house without permission.

No charges will be filed for the false report, due to the girl's age.
