DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) — A preliminary autopsy has found no signs of trauma to a pregnant woman found dead in her car in Ohio and confirms her unborn child also died.
Authorities said Friday the cause of 23-year-old Deanna Ballman’s death is undetermined pending an autopsy report that could take two or three months. They call it a “suspicious death.”
Her body was found Wednesday northeast of Columbus. She lived in nearby Pataskala and had been reported missing Tuesday.
Relatives said Ballman had gone to do a house-cleaning job found through an online classified ad. Her mother said Ballman called and said she wasn’t feeling well, and then the call was dropped.
The Colorado Army National Guard said Ballman was a supply specialist with the 220th Military Police and was transferring to Ohio.
