2 Arrested After Knife Attack On Wheat Ridge Couple

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Wheat Ridge have arrested two men suspected of attacking a couple while they were in bed.

Officers rushed to a residence in the 2700 block of Fenton Street in Wheat Ridge at about 2:30 a.m. on July 27. When they arrived, police found Lluvia Alejandra Robles.

Robles, 20, told police that as she and her boyfriend, Andres Sanchez, were in bed in the early hours her ex-husband and another man kicked in the front door of the apartment and attacked Sanchez using knives and a beer bottle that had been broken over his head.

Sanchez, 21, received multiple stab wounds and serious lacerations to his hands, arms, face and head. He was able to escape the apartment on foot but witnesses told police the suspects were chasing Sanchez to continue with the assault.

The suspects ran away when they saw a police cruiser rushing to the apartment.

The ex-husband has been identified as Miguel Angel Luevano-Robles, 21, of Denver. He was taken into custody in Adams County on Tuesday at about 9:15 a.m. for a traffic violation. He is being held on a no bond hold at the Jefferson County Detention Center in Golden on several charges including first degree assault, felony menacing and first degree burglary.

The second suspect has been identified as Juan Del-Palacio, 31, of Denver. Del-Palacio was contacted by police in Wheat Ridge on Thursday and taken into custody. He faces several charges including first degree assault, felony menacing and first degree burglary.
