Christie Heads To Colorado For GOP Meeting

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be in Colorado Wednesday, meeting with fellow Republican governors.

Christie and some of the other state executives have been mentioned as possible running mates for Mitt Romney.

Romney has returned to the U.S. after a seven-day trip to England, Israel and Poland. He resumes his campaign with appearances in Colorado on Thursday.

The New Jersey governor plans to participate in a Romney event before attending a fundraiser.

Christie told reporters on Tuesday that he thought Romney’s trip overseas was useful and believes criticisms of Romney’s statements during the trip come with the territory.
