FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) – Fort Carson’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team is getting a new commander.
Col. Omar Jones will formally take over the brigade at a ceremony Tuesday at the infantry post outside Colorado Springs.
Jones was most recently at the National War College in Washington, where he received a master’s degree in national security strategy.
He replaces Col. John S. Kolasheski, who led the brigade for nearly three years. Kolasheski will become senior Army fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.
The brigade is part of the 4th Infantry Division.
