Authorities Review Charges Against Man Who Brought Gun To Theater
THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) - Thornton's city attorney and prosecutors are reviewing the charges against a man who carried a gun inside a movie theater earlier this week.
Workers at the Cinnebarre Theater called police after they saw a gun strapped to the man's waist Sunday night.
Police evacuated nine theaters as a precaution.
James Mapes disputed the charges. He says he has a concealed carry permit for self defense.
Police say the charge wasn't about the permit, but about the gun being visible and causing concern to other theater patrons.
