TRINIDAD, Colo. (AP) – The Colorado State Patrol says two people from Texas have died after a crash in southern Colorado.
Troopers say as 84-year-old Lamar Schweitzer of Conroe was driving northbound on Colorado 25 when his vehicle went off the right side of the road north of Trinidad and struck a post. The driver steered hard to the left, causing the vehicle to spin, go off the right side of the road and eventually roll two times.
Troopers say Schweitzer died at a hospital, and 73-year-old passenger Linda Schweitzer of Conroe also died of injuries from the crash.
The State Patrol says the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
