Bonfils Blood Center Urging People To Donate After Theater Attack

DENVER (CBS4)- Bonfils Blood Center is urging people to donate in the aftermath of the shootings at an Aurora movie theater.

Bonfils is no longer accepting any more walk ins on Friday because of the great response from people willing to donate.

They are urging those who want to make a donation to make an appointment to come in at a later date. They can call the appointment center at 303-363-2300 or visit bonfils.org to schedule appointments at any of the six locations in the Denver metro area.

Platelet and donations from O and A negative donors are particularly in need.

There are no special blood drives planned at this time.

Bonfils has met the needs of the local hospitals involved in this tragedy and is asking that donors not only donate today but make appointments in the coming days to help replenish our blood supply.
