DENVER (AP) — The water level at Barr Lake is falling as farmers use its water for irrigation in a severe drought. Now Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials have decided to have an emergency public fish salvage there, before too many fish are lost.
Starting Monday, bag, possession and size limits for fish being caught at Barr Lake State Park in Brighton are being suspended. An end date for the fish salvage will be announced later.
People with a valid state fishing license and state parks pass can use any legal method to fish from the lake.
