Seasonal Firefighters Now Have Access To Health Insurance

DENVER (CBS4) - The seasonal firefighters who helped battle Colorado's wildfires will now have access to health insurance.

The White House said starting Tuesday the 8,000 part-time workers will be able to obtain federal insurance.

President Obama says the nation has been inspired by their heroism and says he directed his administration to make sure they can get the care and protection they need.

Previously, federal rules did not allow part-time workers to buy into government insurance plans.
