A sketch of an airport of the future (credit: CBS)
DENVER (CBS4) – A new exhibit is taking off at the Denver Art Museum this weekend.
“Now Boarding” shows off six airports designed by Denver architect Curt Fentress. Denver International Airport is one of his best known designs.
The exhibit gives visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the factors that go into building an airport.
“In organizing the exhibition we realized that almost anybody coming to the show would have seen an airport, would have been in an airport and experienced it, but probably wouldn’t know the complexity of designing an airport and planning an airport,” guest curator Donald Albrecht said.
The exhibit also features a history of aviation and sketches of what an airport of the future might look like.
“Now Boarding” opens to the public on Sunday and runs through October.
